About Leisl
Leisl has been working in the fitness industry for 15 years, as a Group Fitness Instructor, Mentor, Group Fitness Manager/Coordinator/Team Leader.
She is currently Group Exercise Coordinator at Virgin Active Norwest managing a timetable of 230 classes a week and a team of 71 instructors.
Leisl’s passion is:
- coaching GFM’s/Coordinator’s to develop their emotional intelligence,
- giving them the skills to create high performance teams,
- helping them learn how to increase group ex penetration in their club and
- teaching them the ways they can boost member retention through use of all these skills.

Leisl’s Track Record
In 2012 Macquarie University Sport had an annual GroupEX attendance of 78,000. Leisl took over the GFM role in June 2012 and 4 years later, annual GroupEX attendance was 117,000.
At Virgin Active the current GroupEX penetration is 56% and the GroupEX occupancy is 62%. This happened within three weeks of Leisl revamping the timetable, revitalising the team with more highly skilled instructors and renovating three studios. These are by far the highest GroupEX statistics the club has ever had since it opened 5 years ago.
