#Filex2017 Insights from Daragh Murphy GM of Sharks Health & Fitness
I attend FILEX to have my thinking challenged, as we search for improvements in how we operate. I generally leave with fresh perspectives, and broader thinking.
3 Takeaways;
- The sharp execution of strategy is more and more important. Broad strokes are not convincing to the consumer in an extremely competitive market, so whatever we do we need to be excellent at it. I believe we can be masters of more than one service at one time, if we properly resource each service.
- Without a meaningful purpose, we will struggle to attract and keep good quality team members, and by consequence we will struggle to retain members. Increasingly people look for greater meaning in their work and in connection with the brands they choose.
- The rate of change we have experienced in our industry through advances in technology are only going to increase. We need to carefully decide how best to harness the most relevant technology for our businesses and then fully embrace them. Paying lip service to technology will provide no value to members and no return on investment
