Fitness Membership Marketing – Developing Right Fitness Programs For Members
When looking at your Fitness Membership Marketing it is important that you consider how to engage gym members to increase gym membership retention. In this Fitness Marketing Tip Justin Tamsett of Active Management discusses the importance of the right Fitness Membership Programs for overall Member Retention.
Lets be honest not everyone is as motivated as the people who work in the fitness industry, to work out. And yet we know if people don’t work out they won’t get results and they will not stay. Our role is to design short term programs — 6 to 10 weeks — they encourage participation. I call these exercise adherence programs. These are designed to provide an incentive to work out — measurement of fitness, opportunity to win a prize, or simply an external motivator to stay focused.
Your exercise adherence programs should have a theme. For example: Commit To Get Fit; Indoor Triathlon; Group Fitness Passport; Around the Club in 80 Days and more. Most importantly, the program should be encouraging people of all fitness levels to participate.
The goal of course is to encourage usage and if participation is easy for everyone, then you will enjoy a greater take up of the challenge. Remember usage will improve retention.
