    Active Management Community

This week I gave the community an amazing resource.  It is a free workbook to spend 20 minutes with team members to make 2020 their personal and professional year.  I’ve had a few clients use this with huge success and I normally sell it at $100! If you’re in the community it is free to download!

We also had 29 new members join last week!

Every week there are resources and assets to help you lead your business.  There are no sales pitches.  People just like you helping, sharing and growing so we can together lower the health care costs across the globe!  Join the community here.

    The AM Pitch

Mondays are the days we make decisions, so today is the day to make a huge decision about your business development not just in 2020 but on-going.

One Reason To Join The Industry Leaders Roundtable in 2020: we examine everything that’s happening in the International fitness industry. In order to stay ahead of your competition you have to be looking in the right place. And with running a business a full time job, how do you have time?

Most owners do not have time, so they ride the industry waves once they have broken. At Roundtable, we examine what’s happening in the industry and SWOT what’s happening to determine if it’s a trend or a fad. And if it’s a trend, what’s our strategy for using that trend to our advantage. Roundtable will open your eyes to things you never knew.

The various Australian and New Zealand Industry Leaders Roundtable are taking applications now:

    • Australian Club Owners Roundtable
    • NSW Personal Trainers Roundtable
    • New Zealand Fitness Business Roundtable

Message me now or drop me an email: [email protected] to find out more. If you’re based in the US, then REX Roundtables is available for you to join. Contact Eddie Tock – [email protected] Europeans contact Fausto di Guilio – [email protected]

    Final Thought

How much networking are you doing?  Networking is the contact sport of the new decade.

Quite seriously, inside your fitness business – no matter the size – is a plethora of opportunities for you to explore.  This could include:

    • Group memberships for companies and businesses;
    • On site wellness talks;
    • Managing on-site gyms;
    • Or just plain old referrals.

As a leader of our business, we should be demonstrating to our team networking in the community and seizing upon any opportunity to build our brand or expose our brand.

Schedule time to walk the gym floor and really meet your members.  Networking costs zero dollars, the benefits are boundless, and will add some real excitement to your daily tasks as you learn new things about your members.  Worst case scenario, you’ll have made a member feel great from your conversation.  Networking is not a spectator sport it’s a contact sport.

  • 20PerFit has now Launched into the Australian Fitness Industry

20PerFit has now Launched into the Australian Fitness Industry

The fitness industry is set for a shake-up after 20PerFit launched its innovative functional electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) training system to the market in NSW and Victoria over the past two weeks.

20PerFit’s highly sophisticated system allows trainers to provide clients with full-body workouts that activate up to 90% of all muscle fibres. In fact, a single 20PerFit training session delivers over 150 times more muscle contractions than a conventional workout – but takes only 20 minutes.

The system is completely wireless and utilises the very latest EMS technology from Europe, where EMS has been taking the fitness world by storm. It’s certain that the idea of only needing 20 minutes to train has its appeal; however, EMS training has also continued to grow in popularity due to that fact that it is highly effective, and allows people to see – and feel – results fast.

“What we’re offering here is next level – it’s the future of functional fitness,” says 20PerFit Head of Operations, Damien Bain. “20PerFit is cutting edge training tech that’s going to transform the fitness industry. We’re thrilled to be bringing this system to Australia and can’t wait to expand our business into all states and territories.”

20PerFit franchises for mobile and studio trainers are now available for sale in territories beginning in NSW and Victoria; though all States can enquire.

“I’m excited to announce that we’re also offering a special deal for the first 10 franchises sold,” says Bain. “Contact 20PerFit today and you could score a special introductory offer that will save you up to $30,000!”

To find out how you can secure your territory today and potentially save thousands, head to 20perfit.com.au, call 1300 202 073 or email [email protected]. Special introductory offer ends October 15th.

  • Where Has JT Been In September?

Where Has JT Been In September?

This past month I have not done much travel and been in the office – this means working on the business!

Three big wins this month were:

    1. Our amazing Active Management Community in our closed Facebook Group hit 1000 members.  We opened up this community in March to fitness business owners, managers, suppliers and team members and have seen 10 X growth in 6 months! And it is a real community with people asking questions and having fellow community members now answering and sharing resources.  This month we also rolled out ‘The Pitch’ which allowed industry suppliers to post a pitch for business! This was in addition to our Book Club, a peak behind the curtain with photos from inside gyms, ideas under 50 bucks and so much more!  If you’re not in the community, click here.

    2. Confirmed Speaking Opportunities! This month it was confirmed that I will be speaking at:

    • The Australian Anytime Fitness Conference – October 25th & 26th
    • IHRSA 2020 – March 18 – 21 in San Diego.  You can register now for IHRSA 2020 by clicking here.  When you use the code JT20 you will also save a few bucks!
    • The JCC Association of North America – November 12th in Orlando
    • The Athletic Business Show  November 13th -16th in Orlando.  Book here.

    3. I had the opportunity to MC the launch of 20Perfit in Australia.  This exciting new franchise will open up the market to new exercisers.  It is super exciting and you can find out more by clicking here.

September was a big month personally.  I turned 50; Zoe won her netball Grand Final and I coach the team; I was awarded Coach of the Year for our netball club; and I have started running again.  I am not 100% sure what marathon I will run in 2020 but that’s my goal!

And with little travel this month I only went to one new gym: The Run Club in Melbourne.  This was quite a unique treadmill class!  Similar to Mile High Run Club in New York, you do different run intervals to make the class with some strength at the end.  If you’re in Melbourne check it out –www.therunclub.com.au

Finally, it was awesome to catch up with Dave from Fitness One in Brighton.  I haven’t seen Dave for probably close to 10 years and the growth his business has had is phenomenal! It was great to see what he has achieved.

More exciting for me was that he had identified a roadblock in the business and reached out.  Many owners either don’t see the roadblock and just keeping bashing their head against the same challenge or simply don’t ask for help.

In just a 90 minute chat, Dave left with some ideas, thoughts and ways to see things.  And most importantly a few solutions to his roadblock.

    Final Thought

With September now closed for 2019, you are left with just over 90 days until the end of the year.  This means you should be 75% closer to your annual goal or have your head down and bum up to hit your 2019 targets.  Which one is it?

If you would like to chat about hitting your 2019 goals, then drop me an email and we can organise a time – email me now.

    Building the dream team

With the exclusive 20PerFit franchise launch events planned for Sydney and Melbourne Start of September, the company has been busy preparing and recruiting, scouring the country for the best in the fitness business so that 20PerFit can provide premium support to its franchisees. Two new State Franchise Managers have now joined the team – Darren Hewitt and Stephen Jenkinson.

Hewitt has 15 years’ experience in the fitness industry, including eight years in the fitness franchise sector. Highly skilled in business coaching, new business development and marketing strategy, Hewitt was drawn to 20PerFit because of the system’s key points of difference and the promising business opportunities it presents.

“EMS training really excites me,” he says. “I also feel there is a real difference with our model, which I believe will be in high demand – both as a business opportunity and as a training method for consumers. Plus, the fact that we offer both studio and mobile franchise opportunities means we really do have something for everyone.”

Jenkinson has more than 16 years of health, fitness, sport and nutrition experience under his belt. After a career as a professional rugby union player, he went on to work as a personal trainer before moving into the sales arena, leading a number of sales teams and managing top fitness brands such as Optimum Nutrition, BSN and Glanbia

“I am proud to be joining the 20PerFit team,” Jenkinson says. “I believe 20PerFit is the future of fitness. I’m excited to see the business grow across Australia.”

    The future looks fit

20PerFit Head of Operations Damien Bain was part of the executive committee who hand-picked the new State Franchise Managers, and he is confident that the two will form an integral part of the 20PerFit team.

“Steve and Darren both bring a wealth of experience to 20PerFit,” says Bain. “We’re committed to helping our franchisees reach their full potential, and with such a fantastic system and the expert guidance of our new State Franchise Managers, future franchisees can look forward to becoming a part of something truly successful.

“We’re already off to a flying start, and as our business continues to grow, so too will our 20PertFit family. Stay tuned for launch events in other states and territories across Australia!”

    A new way to train

20PerFit utilises the latest electromuscular stimulation (EMS) technology exported from Germany. The system imitates the natural action of the central nervous system, sending electrical impulses to contract deep muscle fibres.
