The Fitness Business Podcast Announces Its New Show Host
May 12, 2020 (Sydney AU) – The number one podcast on the planet for fitness business owners has found its new host!
Show owner and producer Justin Tamsett is pleased to announce Dori Nugent will be the new host of The Fitness Business Podcast from the 1st July.
“We launched an International casting call for our new host and had 55 applicants who then went through a rigorous selection process. They were ranked by International judges on their applications. Applicants then had video interviews and finally the listeners had an opportunity to have their say. At every stage, applicants were ranked and Dori was consistently at the top of the rankings!”
“Dori’s enthusiasm for the industry after 22 years is infectious and we know people will feel inspired when they hear her with the guest. Her management and leadership experience will allow her to take guests to a deep level of implementation actions so listeners get even more value from the show.”
Dori said, “Wow, what an amazing opportunity! I am honored to have been selected by the International judging panel, the FBP family, as well as JT and Chantal! Thank you to everyone involved and I look forward to continuing to grow the tradition of excellence.”
The current host, Chantal Brodrick, who helped launch the podcast in 2015 said, “I’m excited to pass the microphone to Dori. I was so impressed with the due diligence she went to in order to understand the role. The listeners will love her.”
Dori will begin her hosting duties from 1st July and this will be just the beginning of new initiatives the Fitness Business Podcast will launch.

Quick Story
When I was a little tacker, I was the fastest runner in my street. When I went to primary school depending on the distance I was the 3rd, 4th or 5th fastest. And when I went to high school I dropped back to the 8th, 9th or 10th. As competition increased I moved further back in the field.
Until I started to train harder, I looked for ways to improve my running style, strength, preparation and mindset. As I worked on these I started to move back up the pack into the top 5. I was never a winner but a consistent top 5 finisher – in fact more consistent than anyone else I raced.
The reason for the story is I’m wondering if you were like me as a little tacker – in the small pond a champion and in a larger pond far more challenged? And did you look for ways to get ahead of your competition?
Business is the same – it is competitive! And if you want ways to get ahead of your competition then you need to attend the Fitness Industry Technology Summit in August in Sydney! Tickets are on sales now at an early bird investment. Click here to see more.
The Power of Video
I am so darn excited as this week at the Club Owners Roundtable, I am sharing the latest data on video marketing in business and how to produce a video that will evoke an emotional response!
Final Thought
I watched a new group fitness instructor teach one of her first ever classes today! I am sure she was nervous but as I watched from afar her choreography looked good, she looked on time and had a beaming smile.
So many would say from the workout experience it was 8 or 9 or 10 out of 10.
What we forget is the class experience starts way before the music begins playing! Our instructors must be at class 5 to 10mins before the start of a class . . . meeting and greeting members and putting smiles on faces before the music plays!
Just remember the class starts 10-15 minutes before the music starts playing and finishes 10-15 minutes after the music stops playing!

Want To Know The Industry Trends Before They Trend?
One Reason To Join The Industry Leaders Roundtable in 2020: we examine everything that’s happening in the International fitness industry.
In order to stay ahead of your competition, you have to be looking in the right place. And with running a business a full time job, how do you have time?
Most owners do not have time, so they ride the industry waves as they have already broken. At Roundtable, we examine what’s happening in the industry and SWOT that happening to determine if it’s a trend or a fad. And if it’s a trend, what’s our strategy for using that trend to our business advantage.
Roundtable will open your eyes to things you never knew.
The various Australian and New Zealand Industry Leaders Roundtable are taking applications now:
- Australian Club Owners Roundtable
- NSW Personal Trainers Roundtable
- New Zealand Fitness Business Roundtable

- Have a structured agenda;
- Allow input from team members;
- Start and finish on time;
- Only have people who need to be at the meeting, at the meeting and
- Feed those attending.
Then your meeting will beneficial and awesome tool to communicate and build a team.
Miss any of these points and it could be the worst thing for your business.
Plan your team meetings and the business and team members will benefit!

How Not To Feel Lonely In Business In One Click?
One Reason To Join The Industry Leaders Roundtable in 2020: running a fitness business is lonely and the Roundtable means you’re surrounded by like-minded individuals.
It is not easy running a business. Every day there are challenges, obstacles and road blocks. Wouldn’t it be great to either see these challenges, obstacles and road blocks before they actually come? Wouldn’t it be great to have solutions for every challenge, obstacle and road block?
Well, you can and the answer is simple – peer support. You see there are very few challenges, obstacles and road blocks that have not been incurred by someone already. So by having a group of trusted people you can reach out to will mean you have an answer within 24 hours to your challenge, obstacle and road block. This will solve your time, energy and money!
Your own Roundtable will help you prepare and get around anything thrown at you in business.

Final Thought
If you want to hit your business goals for the month, quarter or year then you must do two critical things:
- You must write your actions steps! Writing a goal is not enough – even if it is a SMART goal – you must write down the actions you have to complete to get to the goals.
- You must allocate time in your diary to work on the goals. Writing goals and actions steps is not enough. You must allocate time in your diary to actually do stuff!
Almost anything is possible with a plan and allocating time to achieve it.

Final Thought
Almost every team member hates role play! And there are three reasons why:
- It is not really play.
- It’s positioned to catch people out
- It is not designed to help people get better
A critical component to sales success is practising what we should be doing and as leaders we need to change our mindset toward role play. And here are FIVE of suggestions:
- Find ways to discover successes from role play.
- Reward those successes.
- Have people dress up to play the role part.
- Be consistent in your role plays.
- Don’t make it a big deal.
