Press Release: Dave Wright, creator and CEO of Myzone has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders

LDC have joined forces with The Telegraph newspaper to identify the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders. Due to the success and commitment of Dave Wright, he has been named as one of these leaders. Dave not only has grown Myzone but is a true entrepreneur running his own chain of health clubs, being Chair of the Suppliers Council for UkActive, owning another successful company Creative Fitness Marketing as well as being a father and family man.

Dave Wright says “Any personal kudos regarding the success of a company is always flattering, but it is categorically impossible without a phenomenal team to realize that growth. I’m fortunate that I have an unbelievable global team that has stood by the Myzone cause of genuinely making a difference to someone’s health. This, against all the adversity of a self-funded startup, is far more inspiring to me than any one individual accolade”.

David Bains, Investment Director from LDC says “To build a global wearable company in under seven years is an incredible achievement. The fact that Dave has done it with no external funding, while consistently making a profit, is a testament to his entrepreneurial prowess. He has some ambitious goals for the business, and has the strategies and passion to make it happen. We have the feeling that Myzone is just getting started and we can’t wait to see where the business goes from here”.

  • Press Release: Snap Fitness Franchise Locations Around The World Are Making Myzone a Brand Standard

Press Release: Snap Fitness Franchise Locations Around The World Are Making Myzone a Brand Standard

Myzone is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Snap Fitness that requires all Snap Fitness franchises in the USA, Australia and New Zealand to install Myzone technology in their facility.

This agreement will assist Snap Fitness locations in making members feel good about exercise, driving member engagement and retention using the most ‘relevant’ wearable technology in the fitness industry.

Peter Taunton, Lift Brands CEO, was one of the first fitness chains in the world to install Myzone in his facility back in 2012. He says “I recognized back then that wearable technology had a role in motivating the Snap Fitness community to put effort into exercise. Getting feedback on effort inspires more of the same behavior, which is the secret to building routine. This is fundamentally why we have mandated Myzone technology in our locations.”

Snap Fitness will also be launching a new training program that leverages Myzone technology called MYFIT. The program, set to go live Q4 2018, will consist of 365 daily functional training workouts and is supported by the video display Myzone has built called ‘MZ-Instruct.’ The video display includes 9 video tiles exemplifying the 9 movements used in the daily workout and each movement is paired with a colored heart rate zone indicator to encourage members to maximize their effort. MYFIT will deliver a dynamic functional workout to Snap Fitness members with no instructor required.

“The goal of MYFIT is to engage members and help them achieve results, at a cost that works for both members and franchisee – that added cost being zero,” said Mike Vaught, Personal Training Department Manager at Snap Fitness.

MZ-Instruct video display utilizes the Myzone software to allow clubs to deliver professional and consistent programming for a full-body functional workout. Within the software, you can design video-based classes that will play on the Myzone screen to guide members through exercises. It is the ideal digital companion to instructors or managers to ensure members are using correct form and delivery each time.

“We are delighted to be rolling out MZ-Instruct at Snap Fitness locations,” said Dave Wright, CEO of Myzone, “Peter Taunton and his team have been nothing but supportive to Myzone since 2012 when we were in the early development stages of the product. He saw the trend with video and is yet again leading the way, this time with a model that not only helps eliminate payroll but provides quality instructions the operator can control.”

“Myzone has allowed us to deliver a premium product for no extra cost,” said Taunton, “It’s truly a disruptive move that supports the members and the franchisee.”  Myzone is currently represented in over 5,000 facilities in 65+ countries and translated into 19 languages.

    About Myzone

Myzone delivers a wearable and digital technology solution for the fitness industry.

The wearable fitness tracker shows and rewards effort when you work out. Myzone displays real-time heart rate, calories, and intensity with five simple color-coded personalized zones. The telemetry can be displayed collectively in group settings and exercise classes, or individually direct to your smartphone via the Myzone app. The app allows engagement, motivation, and communities to flourish.

Myzone amplifies the group exercise experience; it provides valuable data for personal training departments with built-in challenges, personal goals, gamification and an online social community, users are motivated to sustain physical activity through a fun, engaging, and inclusive platform.

Represented in over 5,000 facilities in 65+ countries and translated into 19 languages, Myzone is used by health & fitness clubs, corporate wellness sites, educational establishments or anyone wanting to track their physical activity. In 2018 Myzone has been recognized by IHRSA as the Associate Member of the Year. For more information, visit http://www.myzone.org/.
