    #JTInThRaw Special Edition Launching Your 2 Week Challenge

    #JTInThRaw Special Edition launching your 2 week challenge …

    1. Plan your day either as the last task before you go home.
    2. Prioritise your plan with time allocated and blocked into your diary.
    3. Challenge yourself to stick with this schedule the next day.

    As you know #JTInTheRaw is my weekly shows where I chew the thin on business.Today I am launching my 2018 initiative which is a 2 week challenge.

    This year I will challenge you to starting a new habit to help you:

    • Lead your team better;
    • To improve your time management, so that you can squeeze in a workout or a walk or some other activity;
    • Improve your personal happiness, healthy and productivity.

    Your challenge that starts today is simple:

    1. Plan your day either as the last task before you go home.
    2. Prioritise your plan with time allocated and blocked into your diary.
    3. Challenge yourself to stick with this schedule the next day.

    If you are leading a team, then why not share this challenge with them – feel free to share the video and the challenge. Here is what I would do:

    • I’d share the video and ask your team to opt in to the challenge.
    • Then touch base every day with your individual team members on how they are going with the habit – allowing you coach them individually; and
    • Once a week, bring your team together and have them share what they have struggled with, so you can collaborate for the best solution; and any successes they have found.

    “You will achieve more when you’re planned!”

    This challenge is not designed to make life more difficult for you – although it may feel like that in the first few days. It is designed to help you feel more in control of your days, thus reducing stress and improving your productivity.

    Are you in? Are you up for the challenge?

    If you are a member of Active Management, then we will be sharing tips in the closed Facebook group to help you. Not a member? Join now by going to this link https://activemgmt.com.au/membershipoptions/ and getting started for as low as AUD49 for a year!

  • Kill The Stupid Rule(s) In Your Fitness Business -> Reduce Customer Friction -> Build Retention

    Kill The Stupid Rule(s) In Your Fitness Business -> Reduce Customer Friction -> Build Retention

    Commerce Bank in the US ran a campaign with their staff to “Kill The Stupid Rule.” This meant that bank managers and tellers were encouraged to examine how the bank did things and if they were able to reduce the friction points in the business, then they would be given a $100 cash bonus.

    In many businesses we have had ‘rules’ based on industry history or even based on what was the trend when we opened.

    Consumer expectations have changed and you may not have updated your rules to meet their new demands.

    These rules can and do create friction points in the member joining or staying.

    Why not consider making the next 30 days your own ‘Kill The Stupid Rule’?

  • Group Fitness Manager Tip: Recognise Weaknesses

    Group Fitness Manager Tip: Recognise Weaknesses

    When we set new goals for ourselves or our teams, we need to work to our strengths.

    It is helpful to get an external perspective on what those strengths and weaknesses might be.

    Weaknesses can be developed but they may also be something another individual or team can do whilst you do what you do best and excel at it.

    A goal that is imposed is harder to succeed at than one that is chosen and agreed on. This plan will have the necessary commitment from the team to take it to a successful conclusion, with the right support and leadership.

  • Is your Team Dysfunctional?

    Is your Team Dysfunctional?

    dysfunctional team

    An efficient and cohesive team is one of the most elusive yet one of the most powerful business tools at your disposal.

    It is hard to quantify and measure, and difficult to report against but when your team is dysfunctional, you know it.

    Signs and symptoms of a dysfunctional team will include;

    • Poor communication amongst the team
    • Lack of trust between team members
    • Conflict within the team
    • Low buy-in from the team
    • Lack of results

    The answer – great leadership. A skilled leader will help a team connect to one another, begin to trust and support one another, work together and stay committed to achieving results.
