#IHRSA2015: Profound Statement From Brent Darden
After attending IHRSA for many years, I have heard the great John McCarthy deliver powerful presentations, the current Joe Moore shares his insights in the industry and a variety of Chairman’s of IHRSA speak on different aspects of the industry.
Personally, Brent Darden’s 5 minute presentation prior to a keynote was the best I have EVER heard with the most industry-defining message ever said!
The raw, authentic, genuine and heart felt message resonated with EVERYONE in the room!
In essence here is what Brent said:
- His wife does aerobic classes on TV in his living room;
- His son does cross fit;
- People go to 24 hour clubs and big box gyms;
- People choose to use local government facilities; and
- Some people just exercise outdoor.
If the industry is serious about improving the health of their community, their state, their country and even their world then ALL forms of activity must be embraced. We need to accept people have different interests and not challenge the individuals or ostracise those that deliver that style of exercise.
Together, we ALL make up the fitness industry and together we can get EVERYONE more active!
Three cheers Brent! I am sure people have thought this but you were the only one with the courage to say it!
So lets get the world moving more! And every fitness business will #GROW.
