  • Sponsored Blog: A Solid Regimen for Financial Fitness

Sponsored Blog: A Solid Regimen for Financial Fitness

Your business focuses on creating health and fitness for individuals and groups. But have you stopped and considered “Is my business financially fit?” Keeping proper financial records, being compliant with BAS and monitoring your cash flow, income and expenses is essential to creating a financially fit business.

Here are simple tips to becoming financially fit:

    • Use cloud-based software. Improve flexibility by having your data available to you anywhere, anytime.
    • Go paperless. Improve efficiency by receiving and sending invoices and statements from vendors and customers via email and process payments electronically via credit card, BPay or bank EFT.
    • Delegate to the professionals. Let them do as much as work as they can so you spend time doing what you’re good at.
      • A professional bookkeeper should do all day-to-day activities, should provide you with financial insights and be your partner in making you succeed.
      • A professional accountant will advice you how to manage your tax compliance.
    • Be Diligent. If you allocate only 15 minutes per day to maintaining your business’ financial affairs you will be financially fit. Sounds familiar, right?Your business helps people stay physically fit. Make sure your business is just as fit as you by following the regimen above.

Powerhouse Gym Banner Not As Effective

Last week we shared two campaigns from Powerhouse Gyms – if you missed it click here and this week we share two more banners that are not as effective.

    5th May II 5th May I

We feel these just miss the mark completely and are just huge banners with no link to the building and nothing clever. We can’t image anyone looking at them and going “Wow! That is cool?”

    Are we wrong?

Fitness Marketing Ideas – Simple Fitness Marketing Idea For Personal Trainers

In this Fitness Marketing Idea Justin Tamsett of Active Management shares with us one simple Fitness Marketing Idea that every Gym or Personal Trainer can use in their marketing to improve both membership sales and membership retention.

In a world where service is moving on-line, in the fitness industry it is very difficult for us to not need people somewhere along the member’s lifetime.

Which I believe is a massive asset to our retention.

You see people love recognition. It can be a status thing, where people feel better about themselves when others know their name. And use their name.

The non-negotiable aspect of working in the fitness industry: know people’s names. We should strive to welcome every body by name when they walk in and as they leave. We should strive to perform CRC’s in a group class, using people’s names.

And as we walk the gym floor, we should strive to acknowledge everyone by name.

This could well be the differentiating factor in a competitive environment or the key to improving retention.

Fitness Membership Marketing – Developing Right Fitness Programs For Members

When looking at your Fitness Membership Marketing it is important that you consider how to engage gym members to increase gym membership retention. In this Fitness Marketing Tip Justin Tamsett of Active Management discusses the importance of the right Fitness Membership Programs for overall Member Retention.

Lets be honest not everyone is as motivated as the people who work in the fitness industry, to work out. And yet we know if people don’t work out they won’t get results and they will not stay.

Our role is to design short term programs — 6 to 10 weeks — they encourage participation. I call these exercise adherence programs.

These are designed to provide an incentive to work out — measurement of fitness, opportunity to win a prize, or simply an external motivator to stay focused.

Your exercise adherence programs should have a theme. For example: Commit To Get Fit; Indoor Triathlon; Group Fitness Passport; Around the Club in 80 Days and more.

Most importantly, the program should be encouraging people of all fitness levels to participate.

The goal of course is to encourage usage and if participation is easy for everyone, then you will enjoy a greater take up of the challenge.
Remember usage will improve retention.

Active Management has the proven leadership, sales & marketing solutions for the fitness industry. We provide industry specific resources and coaching to help make your business more profitable.
