Media Release: YMCA South Australia First in Country to Achieve Quality Accreditation for all Facilities
YMCA South Australia has become the first organisation in the country to have all its facilities achieve Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation.
The nationally recognised accreditation confirms YMCA South Australia’s commitment to providing outstanding quality, value, safety and customer service at each of its eight facilities.
Andrew Mundy, YMCA South Australia General Manager of Operations, said “The Accreditation provides confidence, not only to our members, guests and the communities in which we work, but as a vital step forward in working with our contract partners to deliver the best from some of their most valuable community assets.”
“Our partners entrust us, as custodians of their facilities, to continually innovate and deliver high quality programs aimed at improving community health and wellbeing.”
“Accreditation provides recognition and assurance that the Y is delivering on those promises and remains the state’s leading recreation provider.” says Mundy.
Barrie Elvish, Chief Executive Officer for Fitness Australia, says “Our business accreditation program is designed to continuously build on the quality of a fitness business, with customer care and value being the ultimate goals.”
Quality Accreditation Program participants are required to undertake a rigorous assessment of six key areas including professionalism, safety, customer care, information and knowledge, people and leadership. It provides the opportunity to improve the effectiveness of their business, provide greater value to their customers and raise community expectations of customer care and service.
“YMCA South Australia has shown immense leadership by completing the Accreditation process for not one, but all eight South Australian managed facilities including St Clair Recreation Centre, The Valleys Lifestyle Centre, Marion Leisure & Fitness Centre, John McVeity Centre, Port Lincoln Leisure Centre, The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre, Whyalla Health & Leisure Centre and Fleurieu Aquatic Centre,” adds Elvish.
Earlier today Elvish visited St Clair Recreation Centre in South Australia to formally present their Accreditation Certificates. During the ceremony he said “Congratulations to the team from YMCA South Australia this ground-breaking achievement that demonstrates business leadership and their commitment to South Australian communities.”
Mundy said “It is a source of great pride to be the first to achieve 100 per cent compliance across all of our managed facilities because it confirms our unwavering commitment to deliver quality, value and care to our community.”
“Plus, this Accreditation provides us with the recognition and acknowledgement to support the amazing work that our teams deliver on the ground every day, it quantifies that YMCA South Australia continues to strive to be the leader in recreation facility management in the state.”
