Motionsoft Technology Summit | Takeaways From Nick Beale of Myzone
Nick from Myzone attended the Motionsoft Technology Summit earlier this month and here are his takeaways:
- There is an increasing need across the industry for Data Standardization and for 3rd parties to come together.
- We are at the data gathering phase where everyone now understands that they need platforms and processes to gather data, next will be what to do with all that data. We are not there yet.
- There’s a growing realization that tech cannot replace the human elements of creating an experiencing and providing the relationship – high touch.
- Live streaming of workouts can bring people into clubs if done correctly. Clubs can use their own content and shout about it! Up to now, the industry has been protective and fearful that members will stay away. Need to embrace the trend.
- Move towards triggered and segmented marketing for a customized member experience rather than one message for all. ‘Loyalty is dead, long live relevance’.
- Clubs are starting to embrace outside the four walls.
- Agile about having Dev, Sales and Marketing at the table for all projects – Cross departmental collaboration.
- Nutrition is still on the outside looking in terms of being able to provide robust solutions. Still haven’t cracked that nut.
- Clubs should move away from making it difficult for members to cancel, in fact, they should make it very simple as the member will likely come back. Making it hard turns them off.
- A 7% increase or decrease in NPS has a 1% increase/decrease in revenue. Stat from London school of business.
