Women’s Leadership Panel For The Fitness Industry
Have you ever been so nervous you literally need vomited?
I was on the verge as I interviewed two powerhouse global female leaders: Mel Tempest & Allison Flatley. I am blokey bloke and I am doing my best to not offend anyone – probably fail more than I succeed – so this interview I was on the edge of my seat! And to be honest I loved chatting with Allison & Mel because I learned so much about leading females in the workplace and how women see things! Questions
- What trends are you seeing in our industry to elevate women into leadership and ownership roles?
- Mel – you’re a very successful club owner. When did you realise that you were a role model of inspiration for women?
- Allison – do you think many female leaders realise the ‘responsibility’ they have to inspire other women to take on leadership roles and when they realise that, what are you seeing them do?
- Mel – why are women hesitant to take on leadership roles? And it is only role models that change can that hesitancy or is there something else?
- Allison – you have your Iron Maidens REX Roundtables, can you share what sort of topics you discuss in your meetings?
- For both of you – I have a scenario for you. There is a male owner of a fitness business and he has a female who has a great talent in her role and while she has not expressed to him a desire to climb the leadership ladder, it is obvious to her peers. What advice would you give to this owner?
- Mel – can you give our female listeners a 90 day challenge to develop their careers?
- Allison – can you give our male listeners a 90 day challenge to develop female leaders in their business?
Thanks Mel and Allison!
