Michelle Bridges Honoured By Fitness Australia
Fitness Australia, inducted Michelle Bridges into the Roll of Honour for her outstanding contribution to the health and fitness industry.
Michelle Bridges is Australia’s most influential personal trainer and has been in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years.
Michelle is known for her ‘tough love’ messages and heart-warming compassion on The Biggest Loser. She is the author of 11 bestselling books and the co-founder of her 12 Week Body Transformation, the country’s leading online health and fitness program, which has empowered Australians to lose more than a million kilograms.
She is also a big supporter of charities such as the RSPCA, Black Dog Institute and the Mother’s Day Classic.
Inductees to the Fitness Australia Industry Roll of Honour, are people who have been described as ‘game-changers’ in the health and fitness industry. Game-changers are those that have made an enduring contribution to the industry.
“Over the past twenty years, Michelle’s passion and commitment to the health and fitness industry keeps growing and she has used this energy and drive to help others achieve their goals. Michelle’s vision and entrepreneurial flair has influenced and been an inspiration to her peers,” Lauretta Stace, CEO of Fitness Australia said.
This is the fourth year that the Roll of Honour is being held, Michelle joins other giants in the industry who have changed the way our industry today operates.
The Roll of Honour aims to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the industry, preserve and document the history of the industry, educate the public about the industry’s role and to promote the positive values of the industry.
Michelle Bridges said: “I love every minute of working in this amazing industry. My working life has always been dedicated to helping people achieve their fitness goals, whether that’s 1 person or a nation. I am immensely proud of my contribution to improving our nation’s health. I would like to thank Fitness Australia for this honour and for helping the industry achieve higher standards.”
Fitness Australia’s Chairman’s Award is awarded to John Smith, General Manager of South Yarra Sports. The Award recognises John’s contribution to the Fitness Australia Register of Exercise Professionals and his role on the Sports and Recreational Industry Advisory Committee with Service Skills Australia.
Fitness Australia’s Community Health and Volunteerism Award is awarded to Barbara Ward, Managing Director of Sydney Adventists Hospital Foundation. The Award recognises her contribution to the development and advancement of the fitness industry in Australia.
Justin is the Managing Director of Active Management, which he began January 2004. He offers coaching to businesses worldwide in everything from start up and design to marketing and sales systems. Justin also facilitates four Australian and New Zealand ‘fitness industry roundtables’ events, which allows him to see a huge cross section of business models.
