Why You Should Vote For Me As a Fitness Australia Director: David Morgan
I wanted to write to you personally to seek your support in the upcoming election of Fitness Australia’s Board of Directors. As you may be aware, as a registered business, you are able to cast a vote for the aforementioned.
This is my first time running for re-election to the Board. To my surprise, I learned that of the 1300 registered businesses, less that 200 took the time to vote in the last election. Most votes were cast by the larger operators in our industry, who each get one vote for every registered club they operate. This suggests that independent operators such as myself, might be under represented . In part, this is the reason I am compelled to seek re-election to the Board.
I believe that diversity in our industry is important, be it as a sole proprietor or multinational chain. Managing and owning 3 health clubs, I understand the unique challenges we face and the vital role we play in the health and fitness landscape of Australia. Further, I can see where opportunity exists to improve our overall position.
Having over a decade of experience in our industry, combined with a background as an executive in the commercial, not-for-profit and government sectors; I feel I bring a blend of experience that will assist Fitness Australia in realising their strategic goals.
Fitness Australia will be sending you information about the election, I would encourage you to consider the nominees and cast a vote – it matters!
If successful in my re-election, I believe that I will be able to progress the great work Fitness Australia are doing for the whole of the industry and will ensure your interests are genuinely represented.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any matters you would like to raise with me, I would be delighted to hear from you.
